Film scripted by HKMU alumna showcased at prestigious film festivals

This year, HKMU athletes once again delivered an outstanding performance in the USFHK competitions. In the 2024-2025 USFHK Taekwondo Competition, our HKMU Taekwondo Team secured the men’s team first runner-up position, marking another outstanding achievement. In Men’s Black Belt Kyorugi, Hau Pok-wai clinched the championship in the Light group, while Wong Kin-laam and Xu Jinxuan earned third place in the Fin group and the Welter group respectively. In Men’s Black Belt Poomsae, Xu Jinxuan and Wong Tsz-shun each won a bronze medal in the “Style 6 & Koryo” category and “Style 8 & Taebak” category respectively. Additionally, they, along with team member Li Lap-fu, brought home the silver medal in the Men’s Poomsae Team event.
In the 2024–25 USFHK Dragon Boat Competition, the HKMU Dragon Boat Team secured a silver medal, their best result to date, in the Small Boat Mixed category. In the preliminary round, they clocked an impressive 58.184 seconds, earning them a spot in the finals. In the final race, the team finished with an even better time of 55.797 seconds, just 1.5 seconds behind the champion, clinching the silver medal.
In the 2024–25 USFHK Karatedo Competition, HKMU Karatedo Team members Yeung Ka-chun and Kwok Man-wai showcased exceptional skills, earning third place in the Men’s Kumite -67 kg and Women’s Kumite -55 kg categories, respectively.
The HKMU Table Tennis Team also fought valiantly in the 2024–25 USFHK Table Tennis Competition. The Men's team demonstrated remarkable perseverance during a three-hour uphill battle, taking fourth place, the best-ever result for HKMU.
Earlier, the HKMU Swimming Team made their mark in the USFHK Annual Aquatic Meet 2024–25, taking home one gold, one silver and two bronze medals in the individual contests of Boys’ 50m Freestyle, the Boys’ 50m Butterfly, the Girls’ 50m Freestyle, and Girls’ 50m Breaststroke, respectively.
