Welcome to all new MetroChallenge 2024 Awardees.
9 winning student and alumni teams are receiving guidance and support from HKMU, Education For Good and HKAI Lab to start their entrepreneurship journey.
The “Entrepreneurship Day” provides a platform for its students and alumni to connect and exchange ideas with experienced entrepreneurs. At the event, HKMU also announced the results of its entrepreneurship programme, “MetroChallenge”.
Each of the 9 winning student and alumni teams will receive a HK$100,000 implementation fund to execute their entrepreneurship project.
The shortlisted teams will be invited to join the closed-door pitching on campus.
33 teams are shortlisted to receive a MetroLab subsidy of $5,000 to build an MVP, including prototype development and market testing/validation within 1.5 months.
The training workshop on “Achieve Success through Effective Communication” highlighted the critical role of communication skills in entrepreneurial success.
Students gained valuable insights into boosting both verbal and non-verbal communication, crafting captivating presentations, and using active listening to enhance understanding and teamwork.
The training workshop on “Identifying Customer Pain Points and Validating Your Business Concept” emphasised the importance of understanding customer needs and effectively presenting innovative solutions.
Students learned essential entrepreneurial skills, including pinpointing customer pain points, mastering research techniques, and confidently validating business ideas.
2 information sessions were held for interested students to learn more about MetroChallenge.
Freeture Concept HK held the workshop to share information and techniques to students for participating in the bazaar.
Teachers and students from HKMU visited Urban Mushroom HK to learn about the operation of the mushroom farm and gain experience in mushroom production in Hong Kong.
