The programme aims to equip students with the advanced knowledge and skills necessary to become effective sports industry leaders. The programme provides students with a comprehensive understanding of diverse aspects of sports business, including digital economy in sports, revenue and business management in sports industry and strategic sports marketing. Through a combination of theoretical and practical coursework, students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills essential for a successful career in the sports industry. Additionally, study tours and applied business projects offer students practical insights and enhance their readiness to tackle challenges in the global sports market.

About The Programme

Programme Intended Learning Outcomes (PILOs)

  1. Critically evaluate the contemporary issues in sports business and marketing using relevant theories and practices.
  2. Formulate sustainable strategies to deal with dynamic business environment in the sports industry.
  3. Apply globally transferrable skills in international sports business and marketing to address opportunities and problems faced by global organisations.
  4. Demonstrate and integrate effective leadership and communication skills to lead and manage teams that drive organisational success.

Entry Requirements

Applicants to the MPMGSBF programme must satisfy the following entry requirement:

  • a recognised degree in a business-related area (or its equivalent); or
  • a recognised degree in a non-business area (or its equivalent), plus at least three years of supervisory/ managerial experience; or
  • a recognised post-secondary qualification at Qualifications Framework Level 4 (or its equivalent) in a business-related area, plus at least ten years of supervisory/ managerial experience.
  • applicants must meet the following English language proficiency requirements if their Bachelor's Degrees or equivalent qualifications did not adopt English as the medium of instruction.

In addition to the 36 credit-units (or 24 credit-units for Pathway 1), students will need to complete additional courses required by the School after assessing their academic backgrounds, results in the admission tests, language proficiency and other relevant factors in order to facilitate effective learning of Master's degrees in business-related areas. The specific requirements will be stipulated in the offer letter.

DURATION OF STUDY

Full-time students can normally complete the programme in one year. The maximum duration of study for full-time mode is three years. Part-time students can normally complete the programme in two years. The maximum duration of study for part-time mode is four years.

MODE OF STUDY

The courses in the programme will be taught through face-to-face mode.

LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTION

The language of instruction for all courses of the programme is English.

Business Transformation Immersion Programme

In the era of globalisation, market opportunities and business operations are not restricted by national boundaries. In view of this, a Business Transformation Immersion Programme (BTIP) is designed to empower students to effectively handle imminent challenges in the fast-changing markets and workplace, to allow students learn about the latest developments in business transformation, and explore new opportunities. The tuition fees include the fees for the BTIP^. Air passage, food, accommodation, and other incidental expenses are not included in the tuition fees and are to be borne by students. The BTIP is compulsory for full-time students while optional for part-time students.

^ The fee is subject to annual review.

ADMISSION INTERVIEW ARRANGEMENT

Applicants who are deemed to have fulfilled the entry requirements will be invited to attend an admission interview. The interview will be conducted via Zoom. Candidates may be asked to discuss current affairs and/or case analysis for the assessment of their capabilities, such as analytical skills, adaptability, interpersonal skills, presentation skills, and their ability to form logical arguments.
